FG Changes Democracy Day from May 29th To June 12

Following the May 29th Democracy Holiday that took place over a week ago, Nigeria’s President, Muhammad Buhari has signed the new date, June 12th which will now be called our democracy day.

This as signed by the president himself is in respect of The late Chief MKO Abiola.

Who’s government, though shortlived due to the cancellation of election saw the smoothest, most free and fairest election in the history of Nigeria.

May 12th, will be the commemoration and investiture of this new democracy day adopted for Nigeria by the FG.

The FG has also decided to award posthumously the highest honour of the land,  GCON to Late Chief MKO Abiola, His running mate as vice president, Baba Gana KingIbe and the tireless fighter for human rights and the actualization of the June 12 Election Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN
