#ThrowbackThursday!! Top 9 “oldies” that stayed on replay.

It’s Thursday and time for a little #Throwback! And we’re taking it way back to some of the songs that left us sweaty and giddy back in the day. Hehe…

Jason Darulo

We don’t hear them anymore but they sure were, once upon a time, the hottest sounds. I’m talking about jams from back then in 2000-2010.

Although influenced by American hip-hop and R&B music, Nigerian artistes started making music good enough to move our attention from western sounds.

They made music that drove us crazy at parties, got us mushy with our partners, inspired us to chase our dreams,  maybe even encouraged some of us to pursue a career in the industry, or just got some drunk a few times (well…).

Click to go back in time:

2face with “African Queen” (2004),

Ruggedman with “Baraje” (2005),

Sasha P with “Adara” (2007),

Paul Play with “Angel of my life” (2007),

DBanj with “Mo Gbono Feli Feli“,

2face with “If Love is a Crime” (2006),

Styl Plus with “Imagine That” (2006),

M.I. Abaga with “Action Film” (2010),

P. Square with “Busy Body” (2007)

In fact, it won’t be out of place to say that these songs were responsible for putting Nigerian music industry on a global spotlight.

So tell us, what you think about our playlist? Did you (like me) put any of these songs on replay?

Tell us which was your favourite back then.
