Wizkid Denies Reports that he was arrested in Nairobi for smoking ‘weed’.

Reports spreading claim that Nigerian music star, Wizkid was arrested in Nairobi, Kenya over the weekend, for allegedly smoking ‘weed’.

A publication in Kenya, named the Standard Digital News, which carried the news claimed Wizkid who visited Kenya to shoot a music video and also perform at a concert, was
arrested at Nairobi Crown Plaza, a hotel  smoking isn’t allowed in Kenya, where he booked.

Ynaija gathered that the Kenyan News portal reported the exact quoted text below:
“He was arrested when he was about checking out of the hotel after it was discovered he had smoked an illegal
substance- weed. The hotel manager questioned him about the illegal act, which made them have a hot argument, before the hotel security men called in the police. On their arrival at the scene, the police arrested Wizkid with handcuffs and led him to the Capital Hill Police Station. Even though he had paid the Sh50, 000 fine the hotel charges for breaking their rules, he was still taken away, before he finally sorted himself out. Wizkid was due to leave for Lagos at around 3pm and was forced to cancel the flight due to the drama” the online news portal reported”

Reacting to the alleged report , the Nigerian singer Wizkid through his manager
“Seun Jonathan” denied the rumour via telephone with Ynaija, he said “ Nothing of such happened. It is all rumour, rumours keep churning out everyday, it didn’t happen.”

Wizkid tweeted about the success of his Kenya concert and he sounded like nothing of that sort happened “ Was out last night..All i hear is Wizzy wizzy..lol !! Big up the Dj’s steady supporting me and my Team..God bless y’all abundantly….2 sick shows last night!!! I’m too tired but the hustle continues!! Young Don never sleeps .”
